SUPPORTER is an EU-funded project running from April 2023 until September 2025 that aims, to support eight sports higher education institutions from Central and Eastern Europe in developing their own intersectional, innovative, inclusive and impactful Gender Equality Plans (4I-GEPs) which explicitly address gender-based violence and sexual harassment. This will happen through tailored training and mentoring mechanisms provided by expert partners.

The three-step methodology of analysis, reflection, and implementation facilitates exchanging best practices and training materials, strengthening gender equality networks, and implementing targeted actions. SUPPORTER aligns with the Europe Commission’s efforts to combat gender inequality and violence, extending its positive impact beyond the eight implementing organizations to influence the broader sports ecosystem in Eastern Europe and beyond. This ripple effect can trigger gender-focused institutional change in various organizations, contributing to societal transformations and benefiting society as a whole.
